Third Parties & Portrait*
Permission is required for portrait and third party filming or photography.
Permission for filming and photography in the library must be obtained two weeks prior to the event.
To obtain permission, submit a photography request form via the LTS website.
If a third party photographer or filmmaker enters the library with a group without prior permission they will be asked to leave and be provided information on how to obtain permission.
Even with permission, there may be designated areas in library locations and/or exhibition areas or events where photography is prohibited and there will be times during the semester when photography or filming is not permitted in order to prevent disruption to Lehigh faculty, students, staff, and community researchers.
*Portrait photographs are posed, professional, or semi-professional photos taken with artistic direction and include family, engagement, wedding, maternity, prom, or other special occasion portraits. The photographer may be paid or unpaid. Lehigh Libraries reserves the right to define what classifies as portrait photography on a case-by-case basis.
Casual, amateur photography and filming are permitted for personal, non-commercial use with the following conditions:
- Hand-held cameras only
- No flash, lights, tripods, or professional camera equipment
- Disruptive photography or filming is not allowed
- No photos of any library users or staff may be taken
