Faculty and Instructional Staff,
The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) invites you to join us for two Community of Practice meetings this November.
First, in celebration of International Education Week, our Virtual International Exchange (VIE) Community of Practice will meet on Wednesday, November 20, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. in EWFM Library, Rm 520, with an option to join remotely. Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees.
Join us to learn about our partnership with Forman Christian College University located in Lahore, Pakistan. The initiative for our second year of partnering with FCCU incorporates the use of artificial intelligence to foster engagement through student collaboration and creative storytelling. These interactions not only enrich the students' educational experience but also help them develop valuable intercultural skills. Please RSVP by Monday, November 18. This event is open to anyone interested in VIE, no matter where you are in the planning process.
Next, our XR Community of Practice fall meet-up will take place on Friday, November 22 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the CITL Commons located in EWFM Library, 3rd floor. Light lunch will be provided.
Our guest speaker will be Dr. Larry Tartaglia, Teaching Associate Professor, Associate Chair of Biology, and CITL Faculty Fellow. Professor Tartaglia has been at the forefront of integrating VR and AR resources into his teaching toolkit at Lehigh and will share his experience having students build their own interactive virtual worlds (utilizing the Spatial.io platform) in his Virology course and how it affected their learning outcomes. He will also touch on his goal of introducing VR into high school Biology classes in the local community.
Pizza lunch will be provided, so please RSVP by Wednesday, November 20. ALL are invited - students, faculty, and staff. We hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
