The primary method for managing access to University computer resources is the Lehigh Computing Account. This account provides access to numerous secure resources based on each user's unique relationship to the University, and must be opened before it can be used.

For Students:
Prospective students are notified of their acceptance via the Lehigh Applicant Portal, and follow links there to open their accounts automatically.  Grad student applicants also get links from the applyweb (the graduate student applicant portal) regarding acceptance and opening their accounts.
New Staff and Faculty:
New full-time employees at Lehigh can open their computing account with their nine-digit Lehigh Identification Number (LIN) and six character Personal Identification Number (PIN) on the account opening page when they receive them from their supervisor or from Human Resources, or by visiting the LTS Account Services office in the Computing Center when they arrive on campus. Part-time, contracted, and other employees may have different arrangements depending on their hiring types.

When opened, the account is automatically assigned a six-character username and users are directed to set a password that meets the requirements. The Lehigh Computing Account allows authorized users to access computing and informational resources.
