Dear Lehigh faculty and staff,

We hope this email finds you well. We reach out to encourage you to nominate your students, trainees, and supervisees to the TRAC Writing Fellows Program at Lehigh.

TRAC Fellows provide effective peer guidance on the writing process for students and consultation services for faculty who include writing as a key feature of their course. Our program serves the four undergraduate colleges and all disciplines.

We need your help to identify strong candidates for our new class of fellows for entrance into TRAC in the 2025–26 school year. Support for the program has always been excellent. I hope you will help again by nominating promising undergraduates to join this special group of highly trained and motivated students. TRAC Fellows in all majors consistently report that being in the program enhances their academic success.

Nominating your students

Think about your current and recent students, those who have shown special abilities in writing, reading, oral communication, leadership, organization, and reliability. These are the qualities we seek in candidates for the program. TRAC is open to undergraduate students from all academic majors who will begin their sophomore or junior year at Lehigh as of Fall 2025.

Please submit your nominations here. You are able to submit the Google Form multiple times if you would like to nominate several student-writers. You can also email intrac@lehigh.edu and attach a Doc or spreadsheet if you would like to nominate a number of students at once.

Questions? Contact Dr. Justin Greenlee, Director of Writing Across the Curriculum at Lehigh, at intrac@lehigh.edu.

Please note that November marks the initial stage of our nomination process. Nominations will not close until Friday, February 28th, 2025, but we encourage you to nominate students now and to continue looking for candidates until the nomination window closes. Once all of your nominations are collected, we will reach out to nominees to submit application materials. Nominated students will be exempt, by virtue of your nomination, from the letters of recommendation required of non-nominated applicants. We will also hold special information sessions for your nominees. You can learn more about the nomination and application process in the "Becoming a TRAC Fellow" portion of the WAC web page

If you feel you don’t know enough about the writing skills of your excellent students who are otherwise good communicators, feel free to nominate them anyway. We’ll assess their writing skills through the application process.

Thank you, as always, for your support.

Sincerely,

Justin Greenlee, Ph.D.
