In-person events held February 11 and 14

Dear Lehigh Faculty, Staff, and Students:

Join us for Lehigh’s inaugural participation in ICPSR’s International Love Data Week, a global celebration of data, February 10-14. Library and Technology Services, the Lehigh Data Literacy Future Makers Grant Team, and Career Enrichment (CE@L) are partnering on events, which explore the themes of Whose data is it anyway? and You make history. Programming is designed to increase data literacy and explore data usage.

Elevate your impact and confidence with data. On Tuesday, February 11 join us beginning at 9:00 a.m. in HST Building 101 (Forum) for an engaging in-person presentation, panel discussion, and hands-on workshop (BYOD) designed specifically for staff and faculty at Lehigh! This interactive day will help you build critical data literacy skills, equipping you to identify and solve challenges using data. Together, we'll explore how data is collected and used within the institution and beyond, while demystifying data analysis to make it approachable and relevant to your role. With hands-on activities and real-world examples, you'll discover how transferable data skills can enhance your work and support institutional goals. Register for these events now.

On Friday, February 14 come to the Digital Media Studio Lab in the Fairchild-Martindale Library Breezeway (across from The Grind) at 10:00 a.m. to learn about topic modeling using data from the Colored Conventions Project. Beginning at noon in the LETs Lab and continuing until 3:00 p.m., join in the fun celebrating Frederick Douglass’s birthday as part of a Douglass Day transcribathon.

Ready to harness the power of data? Join in our Love Data Week LinkedIn Learning Challenge and explore the foundational courses in data analytics. Learn more about cleaning and organizing data, communicating data, and understanding data ethics challenges. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or a curious beginner, this challenge is for you! Learn more.

We hope you can participate!
