Proposal: This proposal describes using the ICAPE generative AI sandbox (ChatGPT and Dall-E) to improve feedback in WRT 003, a research writing course for multilingual students. The instructor will pilot ChatGPT to provide targeted feedback on issues like quotation use, improving both quality and efficiency. Dall-E will generate visual aids for writing-related lessons. Transparent use of these tools will promote students' digital literacy while emphasizing AI's role as a support tool for instructor feedback. WRT 005, a composition course for multilingual writers, will add 3-minute thesis (3MT) presentations to its existing multimodal assignments. Students will adapt their research papers into concise, engaging 3-minute talks for non-experts, improving oral presentation skills, introducing them to a real-world genre, and connecting them with Digital Media Studio resources.
