Below is a collection of frequently asked questions regarding the computer purchasing process at Lehigh. As of March 1, 2024 Lehigh will be directing users to CDW-G Unimarket to purchase computers based on the following timeline:

  • March 1, 2024: All Apple computer orders will be directed through CDW-G. Purchasing will stop accepting orders through Apple Ecommerce and Education April 1, 2024

  • April 1, 2024: All Lenovo computer orders will be directed through CDW-G. Purchasing will stop accepting orders through Lenovo Direct May 1, 2024

  • May 1, 2024: All Dell orders will be directed through CDW-G. Purchasing will stop accepting orders through Dell Premier June 1, 2024

Before you can begin the computer purchase process you first need to enroll in Unimarket. You will be asked information that will create a DocuSign form that will need to be approved by your supervisor. There are two types of Unimarket accounts:  Browser and Buyer. A Browser can create a computer configuration and then add it to the shopping cart and reassign the cart to a Buyer who can initiate a purchase (most users will be requesting Browser access). A Buyer can create a configuration and also initiate the purchasing process by creating a Requisition (A Buyer needs to have signature authority for University indexes).

If you do not see a bundle, you may access the entire Apple CDW-G catalog by selecting "Hardware" (at the top of the screen) and then "Computers" and the menu option you would like to see (such as "Laptops"). Then select the filter "E&I CNR01439 Lehigh University Apple"  You may then further define the filter parameters to list to computers with the configuration range you specify. If you can't find what you need, you may reach out to:

Yes, you may order anything you want from CDW-G. However, you should check Lehigh's current Lenovo and Dell webpages first since we have not yet negotiated pricing for those vendors. Please refer to the timeline at the top of this webpage for the tentative dates for introducing the various vendors to CDW-G.

There are two ways you can view similar items if something is backordered. If you are on the page where the backordered bundle is listed, simply scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see "Similar Items Available Now." There will be a list of similar bundles available. If you want to view the entire Apple catalog, you can do an advanced search by following these steps. If you can't find a configuration that meets your needs, you need to first reach out to Geoffrey McKay from CDWG to see if he can find what you need or suggest alternatives.  You may also reach out to your LTS computing consultant is discuss your needs to see if other alternative configurations will work.
