High-tech classrooms and labs

Providing technology and consulting services to support classroom teaching, laboratories, and other aspects of the academic and research programs is a strategic priority for Lehigh University. Over 400 Windows and Macintosh personal computers are distributed across campus for convenient use by students at dozens of computing sites. Most Lehigh University classrooms are equipped with permanently-installed computers and projection systems. For more information about these spaces, visit Classroom Technology and Computing Sites. To borrow portable presentation equipment visit Instructional Video and Media.
Software

Whether you’re a student working on an assignment, a scientist analyzing research, or office staff looking to increase productivity, LTS knows you need the right tools in the right place to achieve your goals. The Lehigh community has access to licensed software applications and central and cloud-based file storage from on and off campus, as well as software installed at computing sites for mathematical, statistical, scientific, engineering, and graphic design work. Getting work done has never been easier with the introduction of the LUapps virtualized software delivery system to campus in 2018. Students, faculty, and staff can run over 60 software applications anytime, anywhere, and on any device. Visit Software Acquisition and Distribution for software availability and access options, as well as instructions for requesting new titles. Students should view the Lehigh Student Software Guide for an overview of software options and access methods.
Research Computing

Research Computing is a crucial element in the advancement of Lehigh research and the acceleration of scientific discovery, providing leading-edge computing systems suitable for large scale scientific computing and compute intensive applications. Lehigh researchers, students and their collaborators have access to world-class computational resources, including Sol, Lehigh's high performance research computing cluster, and an expert team to broadly support the increasingly diverse research computing needs on campus. Digital Scholarship

The Digital Media Studio (DMS) houses both a studio and a lab. The studio offers resources for professional preparation of photographic materials, video recording including green-screen, audio recording, video editing, media duplication, and teleconference recording. The lab houses 19 Mac computer work stations with video editing software, an instructor station and projection system, scanners, and both color and black and white printers. As a teaching space, the lab can be scheduled and reserved for instruction for classes that require the software and support. The DMS also lends out video camera kits, microphones, tripods, and classroom presentation equipment (video projectors, classroom microphones, portable PA systems, audio recorders, presentation remotes, display adapters, and more). Visit the DMS page to learn more.
