Our Community of Practice
The Office of Educational Innovation and Assessment and the CITL invite you to join a new network at Lehigh focused on the role of artificial intelligence within higher education learning environments. The Strategic Methods in AI-Responsive Teaching (SMART) community of practice empowers faculty and staff to critically and creatively integrate artificial intelligence into their instructional landscapes. Application deadline is Friday, September 5, 2025.
This fall, we will launch an AI Knowledge Explorer track within SMART that introduces participants to Generative AI and engages them in discussion of key topics such as:
Writing effective AI prompts
AI-inclusive and AI-resistant learning experiences
Leveraging AI to develop course resources
Empowering students to use AI responsibly
Creating intentional policies around AI use in the classroom
Recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to the ways in which AI might be integrated into one’s instructional space, this track will also include ample dedicated time for participants to apply what they have learned.
Participants who complete all aspects of the AI Knowledge Explorer track will receive a microcredential and official letter from the OEIA/CITL documenting their efforts, which can be included in dossiers and other professional profiles/media.
