Email message sent to Lehigh faculty and staff on Sunday, July 21, 2024
We are writing to share a final weekend update and our plan for the coming week as we continue addressing the CrowdStrike incident that led to the recent widespread Windows outage.
We made great progress since Friday, visiting an estimated 80% of non-residential campus buildings. We will continue our building-by-building work on Monday, July 22.
If you arrive Monday morning and your computer is not working, you have the following options:
- If you would like to apply the fix yourself, please follow our CrowdStrike Windows Fix instructions. If you try this and are unable to get it to work, please submit an LTS help request.
- If you have a laptop and are able to bring it with you, come to the LTS Help Desk on the
main floor of Fairchild-Martindale Library. View Help Desk hours.
- If you anticipate a need for priority attention to a PC that supports a critical service, or if you need help in a research lab that requires special attention, please let us know by either contacting the LTS Help Desk (610-758-4357 or helpdesk@lehigh.edu) or submitting an LTS help request.
If you are having trouble with an off-campus computer, you have the following options:
- If you would like to apply the fix yourself, please follow Method 2 on our CrowdStrike Windows Fix instructions.
- Otherwise, submit an LTS help request or contact the LTS Help Desk (610-758-4357 or helpdesk@lehigh.edu).
We have adjusted staffing to meet an anticipated spike in help requests this coming week. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work as quickly as possible to handle the influx of requests.
