The TRAC Leadership Team invites faculty and staff to nominate their strong undergraduate students, trainees, and supervisees for the TRAC Writing Fellows Program!

What is TRAC?

The TRAC acronym stands for technology, research, and communication. TRAC Fellows provide effective peer advising for students on the writing process and consultation services for faculty in courses across disciplines at Lehigh. There are currently 84 fellows in the program. Each year, we receive hundreds of nominations for the fellowship and accept around 30 of those students. Learn more.

Nominate your students

We need your help to identify strong candidates to join TRAC in the 2026–27 school year. Support for the program has always been excellent. I hope you will help again by nominating students to join this special group of highly trained and motivated writers.

Think about your current and recent students, those who have shown special abilities in writing, reading, speaking, leadership, organization, and reliability. These are the qualities we seek in candidates for the program. If you feel you don’t know enough about the writing skills of your excellent students who are otherwise good communicators, feel free to nominate them anyway. We will assess their writing skills through the application process. You can learn more about the nomination and application process in the “Becoming a TRAC Fellow” portion of the Writing Across the Curriculum web page.

Please submit your nominations for entrance into the program in the 2026–27 school year by Friday, February 13, 2026. We will reach out to students directly with instructions on how to submit application materials once all of your nominations are collected. Complete applications from students are due on Friday, March 20, 2026.

You are able to submit the Google Form multiple times if you would like to nominate several student-writers. You can also email tracfellows@lehigh.edu and attach a Doc or spreadsheet if you would like to nominate a number of students at once.

Questions? Contact Dr. Justin Greenlee, Director of Writing Across the Curriculum, at tracfellows@lehigh.edujgg223@lehigh.edu, or call 610-758-4932.

Qualifications

  • TRAC is open to undergraduate students from all academic majors who will begin their sophomore or junior year at Lehigh as of Fall 2026.
  • We value empathy, intrinsic motivation, creativity, a growth mindset, listening, and gratitude.
  • Exceptional skills in writing, technology, research, communication, peer support, intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and adaptability.

Rewards of being a fellow

  • Students hone their writing skills. TRAC Fellows take seminars for credit and practice writing with their peers.
  • Peer learning. Fellows work as a coach and a facilitator to assist others with their writing process and communication skills.
  • New and lasting friendships. TRAC Fellows support each other and build relationships that extend well beyond their work in the program.
  • Collaborations with faculty. Fellows work closely with professors within and outside their discipline.
  • All positions are paid. TRAC Fellows earn $600/semester during their first year in the program. Fellows remain in the program, year-to-year, as long as they remain in good academic standing. Pay increases every year.
