Step into the digital rabbit hole with Alice in Informationland! Join Touchstone Theatre and the Lehigh Libraries on Wednesday, October 8, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Linderman Library for an imaginative performance exploring AI, ethics, and human-machine interaction through the lens of Alice in Wonderland.

The event, supported by the Friends of the Lehigh University Libraries, coincides with a new Special Collections exhibit, Informationland: The Past and Future of Libraries, on view in Linderman Library through December.

About the event

Take on the role of Alice and make your way through the looking glass and into the world of (mis)information. Exploring the intersectionality of artificial intelligence and performance, this project reimagines the whimsical Alice in Wonderland as a deep dive into a digital rabbit hole.

As you journey throughout Linderman Library you will encounter familiar and new characters facing AI-inspired challenges that evoke contemporary issues around data ethics, algorithmic bias, and human-machine interaction.

This highly interactive performance seeks to provoke dialogue about technology’s evolving role in society while celebrating the power of imagination, critical thinking, and collaboration in navigating this new digital landscape.

Capacity is limited to 200 attendees. View full event details at Touchstone Theatre.

About the exhibit

Discover Informationland: The Past and Future of Libraries, now on view in Linderman Library. Inspired by this fall’s collaborative event Alice in Informationland with Touchstone Theatre, our new Special Collections exhibit traces libraries’ role from clay tablets to AI, showcasing how librarians have preserved knowledge, guided discovery, and built community across centuries. Explore rare government records, Lehigh archives, and media formats old and new. Visit through December, or continue your journey online with storymaps and timelines celebrating the ingenuity of libraries and the people behind them. Read more about the exhibit.

The event and exhibit are free and open to the public.
