Email message sent to Lehigh faculty and staff on Monday, July 22, 2024
We are writing to share a final update on LTS’s response to the CrowdStrike incident that led to a widespread Windows outage.
As of 4:00 p.m., Monday, July 22, we have restored Windows operability to over 80% of the affected PCs.
Our data indicate that approximately 300 PCs remain affected. These are either off-campus laptops, specialized PCs requiring a unique fix, or PCs in rooms we have not been able to access.
If your PC is still not operating and you are unable to apply the fix yourself, please submit an LTS help request so that we can schedule prompt assistance from the LTS Help Desk or your Computing Consultant.
This is our final communication on this incident and our response. Future communications will be directed to individual users of the remaining PCs and those who have contacted us for help.
