Join LTS for our 7th annual celebration of National Poetry Month. Every April since 1996, the Academy of American Poets has sponsored a month-long celebration of poetry. Lehigh has participated in National Poetry Month since 2019 with poetry readings, scholarly talks, and poetry workshops. This year’s celebration will include the following events:

Poem in Your Pocket Day, April 10th, all day

This year, Lehigh is celebrating Poem In Your Pocket Day virtually. Look for this year’s pocket poem on the digital signage in Linderman Library,  E.W. Fairchild-Martindale Library, and the Computing Center on April 10th. 

Robin Gow Author Talk, April 15, 5:00 PM to 6:00PM 

Author Robin Gow will join us to discuss his novel in verse, A Million Quiet Revolutions, a lyrical story about two trans boys, Aaron and Oliver, who navigate love, identity, and history after being separated by distance. The discussion will be held in the LTS CIRCLE, located on the main floor (south) of E.W. Fairchild-Martindale Library. 

Robin Gow is a Trans poet, educator, and advocate. His work includes chapbooks HoneysuckleBackyard Paleontology, and A Museum for That Which No Longer Exists (2024), as well as poetry collections Our Lady of Perpetual Degeneracythe moon crawls on all fours, and Lanternfly August. Gow also writes YA and Middle-Grade books, including Dear Mothman and Gooseberry. An advocate for queer communities, Gow has trained over 3,000 people on LGBTQIA2+ and disability justice. His leadership includes roles with The Nasiona, Eastern PA Trans Equity Project, and Queer & Trans Lehigh Valley, fostering inclusion through writing and education. This event is in collaboration with The Pride Center’s Lavender Book Club and a part of Lehigh’s Pride Month celebration.

Sonnet Slam / 2025 Amaranth issue launch: April 29, noon to 1:30 pm, Linderman 200

To celebrate the launch of the 2025 issue of Amaranth, Lehigh Libraries will host a Sonnet Slam moderated by Professor Bob Watts (English). Poets published in the latest issue of Amaranth will be featured readers, but all are welcome to read their own poetry. Pizza will be served. Registration required: https://go.lehigh.edu/sonnetslam
