A community of faculty, staff, practitioners, and graduate students who are interested in games (both analog and digital), gaming, game studies, and the potential of incorporating play into their pedagogy and research.
The purpose of the Gaming and Game Studies Community of Practice is to bring together Lehigh faculty, staff, practitioners, and graduate students to share knowledge and resources in the fields of gaming and games studies. GGS-COP will also provide a space for discourse and idea sharing and offer opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Initial Kickoff Meeting
The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) invites you to join the kickoff meeting for the Game Studies & Game Based Learning (GBL) Community of Practice on Thursday, October 16, from 10:00 a.m. to Noon in the LETs Lab in Fairchild-Martindale Library. The LETs Lab is next to the Digital Media Studio across from The Grind.
This session is intentionally informal with light snacks, a few games set up and available to play in a variety of formats, and plenty of space for conversation. We’ll also take a couple of moments during the session (at around 10:15 & 11:15) to go around the room for introductions and to share interests in gaming and game studies. We'll also brainstorm some possibilities for the CoP's future, and talk about some of the resources already in place to help us get started.
This event is open to anyone interested in Game Studies & GBL!
