For enhanced security, LTS provides two-factor authentication services (2FA) to faculty and staff via Duo Security. This system requires users to additionally verify a standard password login with a second factor, such as a push notification on a mobile device; a corroborating text-message approval from a mobile device; a phone call; a secondary, stored, one-use access code or the presence of a physical, USB-connected 'key'. With two-factor authentication enabled, even an intruder with a user's password is unable to gain access to their account.
The Duo system provides several methods for providing your second factor, and users can choose whichever method at the time of login. Some require nominal purchases and / or prior planning. For more information, see the LTS Knowledge Base
