LTS recommends that public calendars be created on a departmental, or "in" computing account, so that the calendar is associated with the department rather than an individual (who may leave or change jobs). If you do not have a departmental account, or if your existing departmental account does not have the Google Service enabled, contact Kelly Decker at email@example.com or 610-758-3990. Enter the events into the calendar. To create the events from scratch, enter the events as you would for a personal calendar. Check the calendar to make sure the events are displaying as they should. Note: To import events saved in an .ics file (iCalendar format), go to Settings under My Calendars, and select Import Calendar. Select the calendar that will contain the events. Open the Browse window, navigate to the file, and select it. Click Import.
You can share your calendar with others now if you wish. To do this, you will need the CalendarID, XML ID, and ical ID. To find these click on the arrow to the right of the calendar, select Calendar Settings, and view the Calendar Details. Toward the bottom you will find these three settings under Calendar Address. You can now submit a public calendar to the LTS web list of public calendars. You'll be prompted for the CalendarID, XML ID, and ical ID on this form.
