Configure Android for Lehigh Gmail

Services: 

There are 2 sets of instructions for configuring Lehigh Gmail for Android devices. The first set (STEPS 1-7) is for devices running Android v5.0 or higher. The second set (STEPS 8-17) is for devices running Android v4.0-4.9.

Access Settings via your Apps menu.

Choose Accounts, then Add Account.

Tap Google.

Enter your complete Lehigh email address when prompted. Be sure to include the "@lehigh.edu" portion. Click Next.

Next, you will see a screen confirming that your account is managed by Lehigh. Click Accept to agree to terms of service.

On Lehigh's custom Google sign-in page, enter your Lehigh username (NOT the full email address). Enter your Lehigh password. Click Login.

If presented with a payment options screen, select Remind me later (or No thanks), then click Next Your account has been created.

*NOTE: These instructions are for configuring Lehigh Gmail on Android devices v4.0 - 4.9. For newer version of the Android OS, please refer to the instructions above. Be sure you have a Google Passphrase, and that you know what it is. To do this, go to your account management page and click the link labeled Lookup/Reset Google Passphrase. You will be prompted to log in with your Lehigh username and password. After logging in, you will be able to view your Google Passphrase. Since it is long, you may want to write it down or otherwise store it. Also make sure you are in a location with a good signal or reliable WiFi connection.

Enter your full Lehigh email address. Enter your Google Generated password. Tap the right arrow to advance.

Agree to the terms of service. Choose Not Now on the Upgrade to Google+ screen.

Remove the check mark from Google services communication (Google Play) option. Tap the right arrow to advance.

LTS recommends de-selecting all options except Sync Calendar, Sync Drive and Sync Gmail. Of those, Gmail is required. Tap the right arrow to finish setup. On the Home menu, tap the Gmail icon to check your mail.
