The IMAP path setting in Thunderbird is an advanced option that tells the mail server where to look for mail folders in your account. The default, if no path is given, is to look at the top level. If the path is not blank, the server skips the top level and begins looking in the specified directory. This means that any top-level folders will get overlooked, and if the specified directory doesn't exist, no mail folders (except the Inbox) will be found at all. For the migration to the new mail server, it is very important that you see all of your mail folders, so you need to make sure that the IMAP path is empty (blank).
Note: This procedure only applies to users of legacy Lehigh email. It does not apply to Lehigh Gmail, and is not relevant for students or anyone else who is already using Lehigh Gmail. It is specific to the Mozilla Thunderbird email client. Other email client programs (such as Microsoft Outlook or Mac Mail) will have a similar setting, but the exact name and location of the option controlling this setting will be slightly different.
Click OK to close the Advanced Account Settings dialog window, and then click OK again to close the Account Settings dialog window and save the settings.
