Office 365 is a subscription-based online suite which offers access to various services and software built around the Microsoft Office platform. Students, faculty, and staff at Lehigh are eligible for a subscription to Office 365 Pro Plus.

What a Subscription Includes

With Office 365, all Lehigh students, faculty, and staff will be able download and install the latest Office suite on up to five computers and on up to five mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. Users also have access to the online versions of the Office applications along with 1TB of OneDrive for Business cloud storage space. The most current version of Microsoft Office, Project, and Visio will be available on campus in classrooms, offices and in the public sites and via virtual software (LUapps). Students may use the desktop version of the software in any of these locations.

Desktop Apps

Your Lehigh subscription will allow you to install the latest version of Office, which includes the following programs, on your computer: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Lync, InfoPath. You will also have the ability to install select Office apps on your phone or tablet. The following suites are available to you:

  • Office 365 ProPlus for Windows
  • Office 365 ProPlus for Mac
  • Office Apps for iPad

Office On Demand

When you are signed into your Office 365 account, you will have the ability to create, share, and work collaboratively on Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and PDF documents directly in your web browser from anywhere you have an internet connection using Office On Demand. The Office On Demand suite includes:Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher.


OneDrive for Business provides a personal cloud library for storing and organizing your documents. Please refer to Lehigh OneDrive Overview for how to access and use your OneDrive space.

Creating an Office 365 Account

Students, faculty, and staff can create their own Office 365 account
1) Go to LTS Special Computing Accounts page, click on "Start Special Account Request Process" then select "Microsoft Office 365 Account".
2) Once you have opened your account, follow the instructions for Required Lehigh Office 365 Account Configuration in order to optimize your account. You will have access to all online apps as well as the ability to install Office products on multiple devices.
