Mail merge

While there is no mail merge function native to Gmail, it is possible to perform a mail merge using third party scripts and Google Drive’s spreadsheets. Note that the third party scripts are not Lehigh-sponsored or controlled -- there is no guarantee they will be kept up to date or functional over time. Digital Inspirations is one source of useful scripts for mail merge. Check for updates on the mail merge feature from Digital Inspirations.

There are several steps to setting up mail merge using the Digital Inspirations scripts. Before you set up your first mail merge, here are a few hints and caveats:

  • You may send up to 500 messages per day.
  • Messages will be shown as being sent from the specified sender via maestro.bounces.google.com
  • ALWAYS test your mail merge before you send mail out to a large email list.
