This guide is intended to orient editors of the Classroom Technology and Public Computers pages (https://ltsfacilities.lehigh.edu), which exist to communicate to students, faculty and other staff about the equipment and services offered in the locations described there. Those descriptions should let the readers know both about what equipment and services are provided in the room and who should be contacted with regard to each of the types of services.

Controlling Dual Displays in an LTS Facility

Some rooms at Lehigh are equipped with dual projectors or displays, allowing two different video sources to be shown at once. Dual display rooms offer significant flexibility but they are somewhat complex. If you would like an orientation please call the Media Center (83059).

Configure Remote Desktop for Windows 7 (Mac)

Windows has a built-in service called Remote Desktop, which connects two computers over a network. Once connected, you'll see the remote computer's desktop as if you were sitting right in front of it, and have access to all its programs and files. These instructions describe how to configure the remote computer settings to allow a connection from another location, such as your home. It also covers how to make the connection from home, using VPN and the IP address of the host PC.

Steps 1-5 pertain to your office computer. The remaining steps are for your Mac.

  • Is a component of Google's suite of office productivity tools called, G Suite
  • Offers apps that provide functionality similar to Microsoft Office's Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Includes collaboration features for native Google file types (Docs, Sheets, Presentations) such as real-time multi-user access and revision tracking.
  • Integrates with synchronization tools for maintaining local, offline copies of files stored on Google Drive.
