Create a Lehigh Office 365 Account

What is Lehigh Office 365?

Office 365 is an online office and software plus services suite which offers access to various services and software built around the Microsoft Office platform. Lehigh students, faculty, and staff are eligible for a subscription to Office 365 Pro Plus. Lehigh Office 365 is part of the new Campus Agreement which entitles users to the latest version of Microsoft Office.

What is included in my Office 365 account?

With Office 365, you will be able download and install the latest Office suite on up to five computers and on up to five mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. In the future, as part of this service there will also be access to the online versions of the Office applications. Your account also entitles you to 1Tb of Lehigh OneDrive cloud storage space.

How long will my account stay active?

For students, the subscription to Office 365 will remain active for as long as you are registered as an active student at Lehigh. For faculty/staff, the subscription will remain active for as long as your are employed by Lehigh. After an account has been closed or converted to an Alumni role, the Office 365 account will be closed and all files stored in OneDrive will no longer be accessible.

How do I create my Lehigh Office 365 account?

Follow the instructions below to start the account creation process. Be sure to complete the Required Configuration Steps to optimize your account.

In your Web browser, navigate to the LTS Special Computing Accounts page (https://idmweb.cc.lehigh.edu/accounts).
Read the policies then click the blue "Start Special Account Request Process" button. Enter your Lehigh credentials when prompted.

Check the radio button for "Microsoft Office 365 Account." Then click the blue "Continue" button.

Check the radio button for "Create Office 365 Account/Reset Password". Then click the blue "Submit Account Request Now" button.

You will receive a confirmation that your request is being processed with instructions to check your email for a message from LTS containing a temporary username and password.

Look for an email in your inbox from security@lehigh.edu with the subject "Lehigh Office 365 Account Creation." It will contain your temporary 365 password along with instructions for accessing your new account.

Next, proceed to the Required Office 365 Account Configuration steps in order to both finalize and optimize your account.
